The Jankowski Family: January 2014

This post will be all about Landon! I haven't taken the time to catch up on everything else, but I will do this before I forget about his infancy. Landon's first couple weeks were pretty good. He was a little more fussy than I remember Kaylie being, but we think it was just gas that bothered him mostly. He was a good newborn; so good, in fact, that I always had to wake him up to feed him! He was a sleepy baby! For the whole first month he would literally, eat, poop, sleep... eat, poop, sleep... and lots of sleep! But he was gaining the weight he needed to so we didn't worry at all about all the sleep. Kaylie loved having him home too and always wanted to help with him in any way she could. She wouldn't even let me get out the diaper changing things - she had to do it. She never complained about him, she just simply loved him and still does! Almost every day she would ask to hold him, until he started fussing of course. Ha ha ha!

The second and third month Landon became more interactive and started to really put on weight. He was a pretty happy baby as long as he was fed and changed. He did well with others and Marcus and I figured out how much he loved to be bundled. It was the best way to have him sleep. We started doing a little more tummy time here and there, but he definitely preferred his back. Closer to his 2nd month is when he really started smiling at us. By the 3rd month his face just totally lit up when he smiled! He also started cooing around 2 1/2 months. I have a bright pink cover on my phone and Landon would stop cooing once I brought it out to take videos. He would just stare at it! It was so funny. Now when I get it out he won't want me to put it away - he will actually get mad when I put it down. He must love the color or something. At almost exactly 3 months Landon started to reach for things. It is so fun to see these little milestones of development! When he was 3 months old we would bend his knees and put his feet flat to the floor and he would push himself back. He would just keep going and going until he got worn out. His legs were so strong, so fast!

By 4 months Landon had a super strong neck! Laying on his tummy he could hold it up so well and he could really turn it well while we sat him up. He was really talking and cooing by this time and grabbing toys instead of just reaching for them. And of course once he grabs stuff he takes it directly to his mouth! He isn't rolling over yet, but he is working on it. He will roll onto his side now and stay there for a little while. So, we are encouraging the rolling over and everything but he doesn't seem to want to and he can be so stubborn. Now that he is about 4 1/2 months old the one way he really gets around is by putting his feet flat to the floor by himself and pushing himself around. It's hilarious and he loves it!

Landon is so friendly and smiley and we are so happy to have him in our lives! We all love him so much. He is our little bundle of joy! Kaylie and Landon are going to be good friends. They love each other so much already. Landon is always smiling at her and Kaylie can't keep her hands off him. She is very gentle though and very careful around him. I think we timed the age difference perfectly! Landon will be 5 months old on the 18th and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Here are some pictures of his first few months!
