Fall Is Here!

October has flown by! We finally had some rain this week and it is starting to get a lot cooler outside, so we haven't made any trips to the park this week like we usually do. Kaylie loves being outside so if the sun is out, we are out... but we have still found other fun things to do inside. We made it to the library again and picked out some new books. Kaylie likes any book with lots of color or any kind of interactive books. Kaylie has learned her colors really well. She can look at anything and tell me the color! Just this month she has also learned the alphabet pretty well. I attribute it to an alphabet toy that my parents have let her play with.  Now she can pick out different letters all over the place - on shirts, on board games, and all over the house! She can mimic the whole alphabet after us too.  She really learns fast! It is so much fun watching her learn! The other really big thing is that Kaylie is getting potty trained! Yes, she is only 19 months old, but she showed interest and now after just a week, she is pretty much dry all day in her diaper! We are very happy about this because it means less diapers! Sweet! We shall see how much longer it takes to get her completely out of diapers. Kaylie is such an entertainer - recently she taught herself how to roll her tummy almost like a belly dancer or something. It is hilarious! She just pulls up her shirt and just starts rolling, we will have to get it on video soon.  Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood are her two favorite shows. She can sit through a whole show now whereas before she was far too interested in anything else.  She also likes Super Why and Dinosaur Train. Kaylie is still shy but the shyness if wearing off. We are teaching her that if someone says hi to her she should say hi back. She is getting the hang of it, but sometimes her shyness will kick back in and she will nestle in our shoulders. Ha ha! So cute!

Ok, so enough about Kaylie... Marcus is continuing to work as an insurance agent for Teacher's Pension and it is really going well for him. He loves his job! Meeting with new people every week, helping them with their retirement. He loves the flexibility and likes to work from home. Kaylie and I love it too! I have been catching up on scrapbooking so that has been one of my projects. I also picked up a new series of books called Leven Thumps written by Obert Skye. Those two things keep me entertained whenever I have some free time. Marcus and I have been touring apartments in the area of Citrus Heights and Orangevale to see what we can find because we plan on moving out of my parents home soon! Yay! We have been fortunate enough to save for over a year and we are grateful that my parents have been generous enough to let us live here. It has been a good arrangement. We look forward to the holidays! Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. We are excited to see lots of friends and family!

This is a picture of Kaylie at about 18 1/2 months - end of September!

September has come and gone...

We did a few exciting things this month! We went to the American River on the 2nd just for an enjoyable afternoon. On the 3rd my Dad, Jon, Jason, Marcus, Kaylie and I went to Stinson Beach! And later on in the month we celebrated Marcus's dad's birthday with him in Modesto. Kaylie turned 18 months old on the 15th! I can't believe she is that old already!

At the American River with Grandpa Harrison, Uncle Jeff, and Uncle Jason.

Here is Kaylie with Uncle Jacob!

Kaylie loved getting her feet wet!

While exploring near the rocks Jason found some starfish!

We stopped to look at the view on our way home from Stinson Beach. Absolutely gorgeous!

Lola and Kaylie are making birthday cakes for Grandpa Jankowski's party!

Kaylie played catch with her cousins!

Kaylie is painting with Lola! Very clever use of qtips!

Kaylie was so sweet with Lolo that weekend, we just had to get a picture!

 18 months old!
Kaylie is getting cuter every day! She has perfected her "yes" but she doesn't always use it. She has learned to do a lot of neat things: putting puzzles together, learning to color, learning the names of colors and shapes, and her vocabulary is continuing to increase! She will put two or three words together sometimes to try and form a sentence. We love hearing her sweet little voice. She went to nursery at church all by herself for the first time yesterday and they said that she did great! No meltdowns! We were so proud of her. She has come a long way from being so shy.

Learning how to fit shapes in the box! She is actually incredibly good at this!

Silly girl!

Just being cute!

Yep, she is a girly girl!

We went to the Library and made it for story time! Kaylie loved being there with all the kids, reading the books and doing the different dances.
