Pics from April & Blurb on Kaylie

April really was a great month and we have done a lot of fun things.  Kaylie and I have started going on walks to different parks every morning this week, which is a great way for me to stay in shape and a great way to run some of Kaylie's energy out. Kaylie loves the park and has become really daring and adventurous. She likes to climb up everything and go down all the slides with a little bravery talk. Haha! This month Kaylie's vocabulary has grown immensely! She is talking in full sentences and learning lots of new words. She remembers every little detail about everything and is really good at explaining things. Well, usually Marcus and I are the ones who truly understand the explanations the first time. Sometimes her pronunciation isn't perfect, but she is getting pretty good! Kaylie's latest interests are: playing outside as much as possible, doing check-ups with her doctor tools on everyone including some toys, putting together puzzles, playing with her toy foods and shopping cart, reading books constantly, learning to play in her room on her own for a little while, listening to music, dancing to music, goofing around with mommy and daddy, and she wants to help me with unloading the dishwasher or setting the table every once in a while. Kaylie is doing better with potty training and we are very happy about that. It would be nice if she was fully potty-trained by the time this baby boy comes along - we think she will be. Kaylie is learning to love nursery and she is remembering a lot that she learns. For Easter Sunday she told me "Jesus Lives", last week she was telling us "Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus", she always tells us that "Dear Heavenly Father loves us" and today I asked her what book she learned about and I said, "Book of...?" and she said "Mormon". I am so excited that she is learning and understanding these things even if its just a little bit. She is learning lots of songs in nursery to and she will sing them with us throughout the day and especially at night before bed. She loves "I Am A Child of God" and sings the whole song by herself. It is absolutely adorable! Kaylie has become fairly mellow and easy going and is learning to be obedient. She hates sitting in time out but if she doesn't listen after a warning she will sit in time out for a little while. It's good that she is learning consequences but fortunately she doesn't have to sit in time out very often. We love our little Kaylie girl and we are happy of the sweetheart she is becoming. Life is good!

These puzzles are done just about every day! She loves putting the people together and learning about them - she can tell us all their names and is starting to understand what most of them do.

Kaylie loved wearing her dress at the wedding! She always says, "Mom, Dad, I look so pretty!" Ha ha, I guess we must say it to her enough.

Baby Update and Wedding!

So I haven't put a whole lot of detail about baby #2... I guess cause there isn't much more to say than that we know we are having a BABY BOY and we are very, VERY excited about it! Kaylie often comes to my tummy and gives me a hug or touches my belly and says, "he kicked me". Whenever anyone asks her she always knows that she is having a baby boy (we are still trying to explain how baby boy and baby brother are the same thing). Anyways, Marcus is very excited to have his boy coming! We found out the news on April 1st. We are happy that we will have one of each to start.

Just this last week we were in Washington at Doug and Emily's Wedding! Yep, the last of the Jankowski clan to be married off! We drove out to Washington on Monday, the 15th, and stayed with an old roommate of mine, Diana Nye and her family. Her husband is Ryan and they have two little boys, Brodie(3) and Brock(7 months). They live in Vancouver, WA so we stayed the night with them. We watched the kids play together and the adults chatted the night away. So late that we were a little exhausted in the morning. Diana made us a pancake breakfast and then we were off to Seattle for Emily's endowment session at the temple. Fortunately, Kaylie had Emily's sister, Amy to babysit her for a couple hours and she did great! That evening we all got our luggage into our hotels and met at Red Robin for dinner. We had an enjoyable time getting to know each other's families and spending quality time with Marcus's siblings whom we don't see very often since they are away at school in Idaho. Kaylie did a funny thing at dinner, she reminded me that we needed to say a prayer for our food.  I happily agreed but then she was going around the table to anyone whose eyes were opened and telling them that we were praying.  Ha ha! It was so cute! I'm so proud of my little prayer natzi. Anywho, the next day, the 17th, we all woke up to get to the temple by 9:30. Doug and Emily were married and sealed for time and all eternity! What a happy day it was to have everyone in the temple together. Very special for the Jankowski family. We had a reception that evening in Sequim, so after pictures we drove to a ferry which took us even closer and then we only had about 30 minutes until we arrived at Emily's parents home. From there we went to the reception that was in a cute little park with a little reception hall. We had a blast celebrating all together and then they were off to Seattle on their honeymoon.  The rest of us stayed the night in condos that the family had got for us. They were very hospitable and took well care of us and even fed us the next morning! It was nice to have that evening to spend with Marcus's siblings and parents. We really had a great time! Thursday we headed home. After the breakfast with Emily's family we headed back down to Vancouver to say goodbye to Diana and her boys and then we went to Portland where we met Marcus's siblings at Voodoo Doughnuts. It was fun to see all the creative doughnuts everyone chose! After saying goodbye to his siblings, we headed back to Sacramento. What a great week to spend with family, and new and old friends!

Marcus and I gave Kaylie a check-up set to play doctor while we were in the temple. She used it on everyone that she could that first day, and she still does it 10 times a day! Here is Chris and Kaylie!

Easter Festivities!

This year we had fun celebrating Easter with lots of family! We went to Oakdale on March 29th and spent the day playing with cousins from Marcus's side of the family. We saw Jodi Bunney with her three boys, Kyle(6), Carter(4), and Gavin(10 months). We also saw Sabrina Bunney, Jon's wife, and her two girls, Avery(5) and Emmie(9 months). We spent the afternoon with Aunt Cindy and Jaryn as well. We played at Jodi's house for a while, and then we went to the park near their house which was lots of fun! Kaylie is learning to warm up to others faster but she still kinda likes to do her own thing. It was a really warm day, so after the park we headed to Coldstone where Jodi treated us all to some ice cream! Thanks Jodi!

We spent the night in Modesto with Marcus's parents and then on the 30th everyone headed to Gigi's house in San Leandro where we had an easter egg hunt, a carrot pull, and lots of other fun games. We enjoyed a potluck dinner together and had a great time in one another's company. We always have a great time with everyone. We were so glad that Jon & Sabrina could come and visit from Idaho. We finally got to meet Emmie after 9 months, so that was neat! She is a smiley little girl! Kaylie loved helping plant a few vegetables in Gigi's garden and loved the little statue bunnies in the garden as well. It was fun to see her interact with her cousins too.

On the 31st we were back in Citrus Heights for Easter morning. We got an Easter basket for Kaylie which she loved(well the candy inside it). We spent the morning at church and then we spent the afternoon/evening at my Aunt Pam's house with the Hall family. We had Easter dinner there and also took part in another Easter egg hunt! Kaylie was thrilled to look for eggs again! We had a wonderful Easter weekend! Here are some pictures from the weekend.

3 Birthday Parties in 1 Year!

I have to finish posting some birthday pics from Kaylie's birthday because she had not 1, but 3 birthday parties this year... let me explain. We all had the flu the day and week of Kaylie's birthday so we weren't able to have one big combined party so we had another one with my immediate family and another one with Marcus's parents. She loved blowing out candles so many times and opening so many presents! I guess being the only grandchild really pays off! Ha ha! Here are some pictures, Enjoy!
