January Pictures

We did very little in January after the holidays. But we did get a picture of our little baby that is on the way! That was very exciting! Also we took some pictures of Kaylie to announce the arrival of baby #2.  She is getting excited and starting to understand more. Other than that we have been just doing the regular day to day stuff. Marcus working hard and I am at home taking care of Kaylie.  Kaylie started using her toddler bed in January and she is still doing very well with that. She got out of bed a few times to turn on her light and play but she learned that she loses a toy to sleep with if she does that. She is usually very obedient and a good listener. We are proud of her for doing so well with the new bed. I kept notes of a few things she said in January that were funny or catchy. She started really talking a lot in January:
January 16th - "My don't like broccoli" (starting to get picky about food)
January 22nd - I was cutting Kaylie's fingernails and she starts counting her fingers and said "family" - she then told me that all her finger are a family
January 23rd - Kaylie said a prayer all by herself: "Dear Heavenly Father, we thank thee for the food. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen." (Apparently she has really been paying attention)

Used money from Christmas and got a fun desk with letters! She loved it!

December Fun!

We had a great December! Marcus had a good break from work and we were able to spend lots of time with family. We were in Sacramento for Christmas at our new apartment - we moved in on the 14th!  We spent Christmas with Jessica's mom's family. We spent a week and a half in Modesto after that with Marcus's family. We were able to see his younger brother, Doug, and his sister, Laleinia with her husband, Alastair. We came down with the flu while we were there and my mother-in-law took very good care of us. Couldn't thank her enough! We were fortunately well enough to attend a work party for Marcus at the end of our visit in Modesto. There were so many good pictures that I have to share a bunch... so here they are!

Got a crib for free after Marcus helped out a couple whose house was flooding!

Went to see Santa at a church Christmas party... let's just say it didn't go as well as last year. Kaylie said hi to Santa but she would not sit on his lap! She didn't even want him to touch her, notice the last picture with me in the middle. Ha ha!

Playing Catch Up From The Holidays

Now that things have slowed down a bit and we are back from all our holiday vacationing and such, I can catch up on our blog! Here are just some pics from November to finish out the month that I started in my last post. We spent Thanksgiving in Modesto this year and we were also able to attend my cousin, Nate Escobar's, wedding right before the Thanksgiving break. It was great to see so much family and remember all the things I am most thankful for in my life.

Loved the fall... kinda miss it now

Halloween, Monterey, Jess Birthday and more!

Kaylie loved Halloween this year! She was a cute little pumpkin and she loved wearing the costume! It was even cuter hearing her say "pumpkin" and "treat" for trick-or-treat. We went to a Church Halloween Party one day and then we went trick-or-treating with her on our block on Halloween night.

Here are some pictures of Kaylie at the park near the library.

My family decided to do a last hoorah! vacation before Jeff leaves on his mission. Jon has moved to Oregon already and Jacob will soon go off to school as well, so we decided while we are all mostly in the area we would take a trip to Monterey, CA as a family. Marcus and I decided that we would leave Kaylie with Marcus's parents so they could have some time alone with her and so we could be free to do whatever the family is doing instead of worrying about naps and bedtime. SO, my parents, all my brothers, and Marcus and I stayed at this beach house in Monterey from November 9-12th and we had a blast! The location was a block away from the ocean and we were able to spend a lot of time together. (Slideshow of pictures is to the right. Can't figure out how to get it in my post. any ideas?)

Here are some pictures of Kaylie playing outside with Uncle Jason.  I also celebrated my 25th birthday this month! Marcus took care of Kaylie in the morning, so I got to sleep in and then he made me some breakfast! The rest of the day consisted of shopping, signing a lease for our new apartment, and then celebrating with family in the evening. I had a great day!

Some of the things I got for my birthday

We are in Modesto right now for Thanksgiving week, so I will share pictures in another post. Kaylie is 20 months old now and just talking up a storm. She can say so many words now! My favorite sayings are: "read da book", and "play wit me". She says a lot of new words now too: a drawn out "Ooooh", "reach", "please stop", she tries to say everyone's names, and she can count to 10! She pretty much tries to mimic everything we say - so we are at that phase where we have to be a little more careful. Kaylie is such a happy girl! Her energy and excitement brings joy to us every day! We are excited for this next month when we move into our own apartment and we are happy to be on vacation! Until next time...
